Wonderful folded steel, hand-forged KATANA : The Eye of the Tiger has a special 24 carat hard gold-plated blade. The Habaki and the Menuki are gold-plated too. An acid-etched Tiger on both sides of the Habaki. Delivered with a certificate of authenticity.

* Shobu -Zukuri (Blade style):
o Hand-forged curved blade with a Bohi (groove) and long tip. 24 carats hard-gold-plated blade. Folded steel (C45 & C105W- USA: Steel 1095). 13 times folded to achieve 8192 layers, traditional clay-wrapping technique for differential hardening. There are beautiful Hada (grain in steel, pattern of folding the steel) in the blade. The hardness of its Mune is ca 43° and the Ha (blade edge) is ca 60° HRC Rockwell. The blade spine is iori-mune Cliquez pour plus d'information, the edge is without Niku Cliquez pour plus d'information. (The blade has got a flat and cutting sharp edge).

KOSHIRAE

* Kashira (Cap):
o Beautifully carved. Carbon steel (C45). Steel oxidized, black color.Click for detailed photo
* Tsuka (Grip):
o Wood grip, adapted to the tongue. Length: 12 inch / 30,5 cm.
* Tsuka-ito (handle wrap):
o Pure silk. Tight.
* Samé:
o Real white ray skin.
* 2 Menuki:
o Brass, hand-polished, gold-plated. Dragon shape. One each side, traditional mounting of Menuki.
* Habaki:
o 24 carat hard gold-plated. Made in 1 piece.
* Seppa:
o 24 carat hard gold-plated.
* 2 Mekugi:
o Bamboo wood, based upon the traditional method to seat the pins. The 2 mekugi-ana are drilled diagonal and conical into the tongue. The mekugi are fitted from opposite side.
* Tsuba (Guard):
o Carbon steel (C45), hand-polished. 24 carat hard gold-plated
* Saya (Scabbard):
o Selected wood. Black lacquered. Curved according to the Sori. The Koi-guchi (mouth piece) is made of buffalo horn. Saya with kurikata and 2 shitodome to hold the Obi.
* Sageo:
o Green (cord used for tying the Saya to the Obi - knob on the Saya).
* Total Weight:
o ca. 1 220 gr. (ca. 43.03 oz) without Saya.
o ca. 1 550 gr. (ca. 54.67 oz) with Saya.
* Included Accessories:
o Protective cloth bag with nice colourful embroidery.
